Walk for Our Children 201
What could be better than doing your part for society and having fun with your loved ones at the same time? Walk for Our Children is a carnival which aims to raise funds for our children in Singapore Children’s Society with net proceeds going towards benefiting our children and their families.

This year’s event took place on 24 July 2011 with a grand total of 55 BM staff and family members taking part in the proceedings. The day started at 8.30 a.m when the guest of honour, Miss Fu Hai Yien, who is a Senior Minister of State*, *flagged off the 4km walk at the Marina Barrage.
After completing the course along the scenic Marina Bay, the participants were then able to enjoy a fun-fair carnival which started at the Barrage at 10am. This family day event included plenty of food and game stalls with a wide array of activities suitable for all ages. The younger ones had a great time on the bouncy castles, while some very entertaining stage performances by our Salsa dancers and Cosplay performances were enjoyed by everyone.
After the event came to a close at 6pm, one of the participants from Behn Meyer International (S) Pte Ltd (BMIS) Ms Tng Kwee Tin said that she and her family had all really enjoyed themselves very much and that the best part was that they had also helped to contribute to a good cause. Her sentiments were echoed by others such as Mr Goh Hung Pin from Behn Meyer Specialty Chemicals LLP (BMSC) who remarked that besides helping children in need, the day had also been an excellent opportunity to bond more closely with fellow colleagues.
And, most importantly of all, a great day for all also turned out to be a significant financial boost for the Singapore Children’s Society - with our three companies BMIS, BMSC, BMAG donating a total of $900.00 for the event.
