ExxonMobil Chemicals is the global leading manufacturer of EPDM and Butyl. With more than 55 years of experience, they have consistently brought innovations, both in process and product technology, to the rubber industry. They supply an extensive range of products, which include Vistalon™ EPDM, regular butyl (Butyl 268™), halobutyl and the Exxpro™ range of products, all of which boast excellent quality and feature global supply chain security.

The event saw a turnout of 56 participants, the biggest turnout yet for a rubber industry seminar held locally. As EPDM and Butyl are relatively new to the Vietnamese market, the event focused on sharing solutions with our participants on the rubber mixing process. Assisting Behn Meyer Vietnam were the ExxonMobil Chemicals’ team of specialists from Bangalore Technology Center in India, their marketing team from China and the management team from Singapore, who presented their rubber processing technology and their wide range of applications specialising in Halobutyl as well as Vistalon™ EPDM and Butyl.

The team from ExxonMobil also shared some updates on the development of the industry. Following the presentation, the participants responded positively by asking questions during the lively Q&A session, which led to the sharing of practical solutions for various R&D and production issues. Finally, the day came to a close at 6pm.

Mr. Nguyen Quoc Anh, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh Rubber Association, extended his appreciation to Behn Meyer Vietnam and the ExxonMobil team for organising the event, ending with the hope that more technical seminars will be planned to elevate the Vietnamese rubber industry to the global stage and accelerate the region’s development.
