In staying competitive in the personal care market, it is imperative for businesses to upgrade their knowledge on the latest update regarding the sector and the technical side of services to customers. Collaboration with other parties can enable new perspectives, insight, and beneficial new knowledge for a company and its business practices.

Behn Meyer Chemicals Personal Care Division, in collaboration with Siltech Corporation Canada, organised a webinar on 21 March 2023, entitled “Innovative Silicone for Colour Cosmetics”, for their Indonesian customers. Since 1989, Siltech has been actively developing materials for the personal care market. Advances in silicone chemistry have continued to increase the importance of this ingredient sector in the development of novel cosmetic products.

Siltech has long been recognised as at the forefront of creating innovative silicones for the personal care industry. These specialised products enhance various formulas by providing improved softness, shine, conditioning, emollience, and stability. Mr G Lizal from Siltech Corporation Canada was our main speaker for the session, and he presented the latest colour cosmetics trends and market overview. He also offered a broad line of colour cosmetic ingredients such as film former, cyclomethicone replacement, emollients, pigment dispersing agents, emulsifiers, elastomers, etc.

The event was well-received, attracting more than 50 different Indonesian cosmetic manufacturers. Responses received from participants were excellent. Many of them were impressed by the knowledge and information shared. The participants were engaged and interactive throughout the event. We wish to have another collaboration to grow and improve together.
