The Personal Care team were given training sessions by their group suppliers on the 28th October 2013 with Mr. Arthur Hein from Jarchem, USA sharing detailed information on their natural based surfactants, saturated alcohols and exotic butters/oils during the morning.

Mr. Christopher Hayman and Mr Daryl Birden from Hayman Ltd, UK also gave a presentation on their company, the history of ethanol and their widely used denatured alcohol grades.

Additionally, Dr Kai Martin from BioEpiderm, Germany, a new supplier for the Personal Care team, introduced their pure metallic silver that acts as a long-lasting antimicrobial agent for healthy skin.

In the late afternoon our colleagues from Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines and Viet Nam then joined the session at Imerys, for product training on their minerals (talc, kaolin, mica, perlite and diatomaceous earth).

The team participated at the In-cosmetics Asia fair in Bangkok at the Bitec conference hall from 29 - 31 October. Our joint booth was shared by five of the group’s suppliers - BioEpiderm, Hayman, Holista, Jarchem, and Naturalis, together with representatives from all the seven countries in which we operate in Southeast Asia (Indonesia / Malaysia / Myanmar / Philippines / Singapore / Thailand / Viet Nam).

In total, more than 360 exhibitors participated in the fair with some 6,000 visitors from 30 countries making for a very successful event. Our Personal Care Group will once again be exhibiting at the in-cosmetics Asia fair 2014 with a bigger booth to welcome our customers in the ASEAN region together with our international suppliers.

In the evening our team enjoyed a fine dinner with our suppliers at the Baan Khanitha Thai Cuisine restaurant.

The team held its regional Personal Care meeting on 1 November to give an update on their financial performances, experiences with common suppliers and strategies to develop business growth in the next years. It was a fruitful meeting and the team is looking forward to meeting again in May 2014.
