The 4th International Livestock, Dairy, Meat Processing and Aquaculture Exposition (ILDEX) was held this year at Indonesia Convention Exhibition in BSD City, Indonesia.
This year, the expo saw a 34% growth from its last iteration in 2017, attracting over 12,000 trade participants and 250 international companies in a space spanning 10,000 square meters. Among the brands present was Behn Meyer, represented by the Animal Nutrition team from Indonesia, partnering with our principals ICC Brazil, AB Vista, Eastman Chemical Company, Intracare BV and AlzChem Trostberg GmbH.
The transition away from antibiotic growth promoters (AGP) has been a challenging one for Indonesian producers ever since the ban came into effect in early 2018. However, this only spelled opportunities for Behn Meyer as we have focused strongly on the development of natural feed additives, and have been able to offer a complete solution package with AGP replacement programmes. Supplying products known for their quality, efficacy and safety, our product range covers organic acids, organic minerals, probiotics, prebiotics and chemical amino acid precursor compounds for stimulation of growth and production.
On the 2nd day of the event, we were honoured to have our own representatives present their topics at the seminar, which ran concurrently with the expo. Akhir Pebriansyah, Ph.D., our Regional Product Manager, gave a talk titled, “A Positive Effect by Using Essential Oils to Solve Respiratory Problem in Poultry”, while Mr. Laksyudha Prasetyo, DVM, M.M, our Business Unit Manager for the Animal Nutrition division, spoke on “Importance of Water Quality in Farm: A Part of Farm Performance Management”. Ekachai Jenwitheesuk, DVM, Ph.D., and Ms. Inge Peeters, representing ICC and Eastman respectively, also presented their own topics on ImmunoWall and an optimised blend for gut health solutions.
We received much positive feedback from our visitors, one of whom expressed that Behn Meyer’s booth had an interactive and communicative atmosphere, while the products that were showcased directly answered the needs of the livestock industry, especially in the area of water solutions for farms.
The next ILDEX will be happening in 2021. We hope for even greater things to come!
