The annual Personal Care regional meeting this year was held on 7 September 2018 in Ho Chi Minh City, which brought together representatives from 7 countries cross South East Asia and including Germany.
The meeting started off as usual, with the country representatives presenting the group’s performance so far in 2018. Emerging trends in the Asian beauty industry, such as the coconut mask, were also presented and discussed, adding up for an interesting experience.
Discussions were also held on the group and semi-group suppliers in order to evaluate opportunities and obstacles on a country-to-country basis, including the support that will be needed to improve the group’s future performance.
Then came the most important part of the meeting: sharing success stories. As the representatives volunteered their stories, it not only motivated the others, but also provided positive examples to follow.
This year’s Personal Care regional meeting was an extra special occasion, as it also coincided with the 25th Anniversary of Behn Meyer Vietnam. That same evening, the meeting attendees met at GEM Convention Centre for an extravagant celebration with 600 guests in attendance, comprising the staff and management team of Behn Meyer Vietnam along with their suppliers and customers.
A welcome speech was given by Dr. Dirk Lorenz Meyer, the Group Director, followed by a second one by Ms. Khau Thi Thien Kim, the General Director of Behn Meyer Vietnam. In the latter speech, Ms. Kim shared the 25-year story of Behn Meyer Vietnam’s growth and development, expressing gratitude to all business partners, loyal customers and dedicated staff who had made this success possible. Following the speech, all those who have been serving with Behn Meyer Vietnam for more than 20 years were invited onstage to receive gifts in recognition of their loyalty and contribution to the company.
The celebration dinner then ensued. As the guests dined, they were also thrilled and amazed by no less than 5 performances put on by the amateur artists who are the staff of Behn Meyer Vietnam. Through the performances, even the foreigners in attendance were treated to a wonderful impression of the local culture. Joy and applause filled the hall even long after the performances had ended.
By the time the ceremony came to an end, many photos had been taken and many smiles captured on film. It was a wonderful time well shared which left everyone excited about the future.
