Behn Meyer Successfully Installed Solar Power System in Its Warehouse Facility in TP6 Subang Jaya, Malaysia
At the outset of this decade, Behn Meyer has set long-term global goals to become more sustainable in terms of business growth, human rights and labour, environmental protection and procurement for our supply chain. As one of the efforts to achieve its net-zero goal by 2040, on 24 February 2023, Behn Meyer had successfully launched a solar power system in its warehouse facility in TP6 Subang Jaya, Malaysia. The session was inaugurated by Puan Rohaya Muhammad and Ms Lotta Kellinghusen on behalf of Behn Meyer's Management Board, as well as Mr Jack Tan and Mr Wesley Ho from Solarvest.
The installation of Solar Photo Voltaic (PV) System aims to help Behn Meyer to utilise fewer fossil fuels, simultaneously reduces pollution and greenhouse gas emissions. Behn Meyer Malaysia had installed 839 solar panels and four Huawei inverters over the course of three months with the collaboration of vendor Solarvest.
This system has a capacity of generating 457.255 kilowatts per hour at the peak of solar irradiance, and this green energy is capable of reducing approximately 469 metric tonnes of carbon dioxide produced annually by fossil fuels.
