BM Personal Care: 1 July 2022
A NEW NORMAL - Personal Care Regional Meeting in Bangkok, Thailand

The annual Personal Care regional meeting this year took place on 13-16 June in Bangkok, Thailand. After two years of facing a lot of challenges due to the pandemic, our colleagues from Singapore, Thailand, Myanmar, Indonesia, Vietnam, the Philippines, Malaysia, and Germany finally had a chance to gather to discuss the state of the business and chart out the future through this meeting.

A warm dinner at a local Thai restaurant welcomed the meeting participants after the usual pleasantries and catching up with each other.

On the next day, the meeting started off with Ms. Lotta presenting the Personal Care’s Group’s performance in the past period. Then, each country’s representative took turns sharing their sales performance, new wins, personnel, and also potential projects to plan and develop over the next 3 years. This was, followed by an open discussion about potential regional and new suppliers in the late afternoon.

In the early morning of the 15th, the team went out together with the Regional Food team to join a cycling tour organised by Co van Kessel Bangkok Tours. This was a whole new and memorable experience as the team cycled to explore the old Thai-Chinese communities of Bangkok that have been living and working there for decades. Following these historic pathways, our team navigated through Chinatown’s Dragon Road. They also managed to get a sneakpeek of the bustling community's way of living, whilst whizzing around Bangkok’s colourful and vibrant areas.

In the afternoon, a training session was led Ms. Valérie Billebaud, from SNF, one of the world’s leading producers of polymer ingredients. Through the informative session, the respective country team were able to identify the key products that would be most beneficial for them to market based on their demography and needs.

When the fourth and final day came, a presentation was made by Ms Mai Huong regarding BM brands, followed by a discussion in which all the participants were split into groups to share selling experiences and discuss strategies for growing BM brand -products in each country and as a regional team.

All in all, it was a very successful meeting. Everyone returned to their respective countries filled with energy and excitement to practice what they had learnt from the workshops and discussions. We look forward to hearing more success stories from everyone again soon.
