Technical Sales Engineer - Water Treatment

  • Serve customers by identifying their needs and engineering adaptations of products, equipment and services.
  • Identify current and future customer service requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential and actual customers as well as others in a position to understand their service requirements.
  • Provide product, service or equipment information.
  • Establish new accounts and services accounts by identifying potential customers and planning and organising sales calls.
  • Prepare cost estimates by studying customer documents, consulting with engineers, architects and other professional personnel.
  • Determine improvements by analyzing cost-benefit ratios of equipment, supplies or service applications in the customer's environment, engineering or proposing changes to equipment, processes or use of materials of services.
  • Gain customer acceptance by explaining or demonstrating cost reductions and operational improvements.
  • Submit orders by conferring with technical support staff and costing engineering changes.
  • Develop customers' staff by providing technical information and trainings.
  • Comply with all federal, state and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, and also anticipating future legislation.
  • Prepare sales engineering reports by collecting, analyzing and summarising sales information and engineering and application trends.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks and participating in professional societies.
  • Contribute to sales engineering effectiveness by identifying short- and long-term issues that must be addressed, recommending options and course of action and implementing directives.
  • Contribute to the team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Sales experience (minimum 3 years) in the water treatment or wastewater treatment industry.
  • Faimiliar with office software and phone systems.
