Behn Meyer Group helps victims of Typhoon Yolanda in Manila, Philippines
On Monday November 25, the Behn Meyer Philippines team made a big effort to help victims and evacuees of super typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan) in the Jose Fabella Center in Manila. The facility is serving as a temporary shelter for evacuees who are waiting to be picked up by relatives, as well as those who have no definite place to go to in the city.

Ms. Michelle Garcia, Sales Manager from Animal Nutrition Division, gave out packed lunches to young victims of the typhoon, while other members of the team supplied packed lunches to adult victims with a total of more than 480 individuals being helped at the center.

The team also distributed hygiene kits including toothpaste, bath soap, shampoo, detergent powder, mosquito nets and dry goods as requested by Department of Social Welfare and Development.

The success of the event, however, was not only about being involved with lending physical help. The whole team also gave a lot of valuable emotional support to the victims of the disaster by listening sympathetically to their stories and encouraging them to be positive about the future.
