P.T. Behn Meyer Kimia (BMK) shared a booth with principals FMC BioPolymer, Tate & Lyle and A.M. Todd to participate in the Food Ingredients Asia (FIA) 2010 expo held in Jakarta, Indonesia from September 29 to October 1.
The event was acknowledged as the biggest food ingredients exhibition held in Indonesia to date and was participated by notable manufacturers from USA, Europe, Australia and Asia, including China. The venue was crowded daily with visitors from all around Indonesia as well as from abroad.
Behn Meyer’s cozy & colorful booth not only presented successful product applications but was also was designed for visitors to obtain product tasting experience as well as comprehensive discussion with experts.
Behn Meyer Kimia’s participating principals were :
FMC BioPolymer - the world’s leading producer of Carrageenan, Microcrystalline (MCC) and Alginate - focused on Dairy, Sauces and Noodles.
Tate & Lyle - the world’s leader in production of Sucralose (intensive sweetener), Starch and Modified Starch – with focus on Beverages, Biscuits and Snacks.
A.M. Todd - the world’s leader in Mint and flavouring - presented applications for Confectionery and Oral Care.
The high priority and magnitude of the event were expressed by the presence of principals’ representatives like the Tate & Lyle CEO, Mr Javed Ahmed and MD of AM Todd, Mr Raj Ghogale, as well as FMC Biopolymer Regional Sales Manager Asia-Pacific, Mr Stewart Campbell and S-E Asia Manager, Ms Wanida Kittibunlu along with their technical and marketing team.
Besides participating in the exhibition, BMK – Tate & Lyle conducted a seminar on the topic: “Developing Healthier Beverages” which focused on Sucralose and Fiber, and was attended by about 60 visitors. Prior to the FIA expo, BMK and FMC BioPolymer had conducted a full day seminar on the topics “General Technology of FMC Stabilizer” and “Global Dairy Trends” on September 28.
According to Mr Stewart Campbell of FMC, “Indonesia is definitely an important market for FMC and we are continuously working closely with Behn Meyer to be more and more reliable partner in developing new products and continuously improving quality products for customers.”
On the effectiveness of Behn Meyer’s participation, BMK’s President Director,
Mr Adhita Susilardjo, concluded: “Besides gaining an opportunity to broaden the potential market and intensify our network with customers, FIA was an important occasion for spotlighting and strengthening Behn Meyer’s brand image in the food industry. Together with our principals, we were able to share and show our capabilities to the market.”
