P.T. Behn Meyer Kimia (BMK) and major principal, FMC BioPolymer joined forces to strengthen and reinforce product knowledge of FMC stabilizer products with a seminar held in Jakarta, Indonesia on September 28, 2010 - a day prior to the opening of the Food Ingredients Asia (FIA) exhibition.
FMC BioPolymer, whose global head office is in Philadelphia, USA, is the world’s leading producer of Carrageenan, Microcrystalline Cellulose (MCC) and Alginate products.
The full-day seminar was divided into two sessions - “General Technology of FMC stabilizers” and “Global Dairy Trends” - designed to introduce prospective new customers and to refresh existing customers’ knowledge of FMC products.
The event was attended by all dairy customers in Indonesia and some participants from The Philippines. The program was staged as a problem solving forum, both through general presentations and intensive discussion. Technical aspects were highlighted, such as the latest developments in MCC and its application in non dairy creamer, retort/UHT diluted milk, high protein-mineral fortified milk, dry mix milk beverages and ice cream application. The seminar also presented the latest global new product launch and analysis of milk and milk products, in addition to new trends in dairy milk.
The sessions were conducted by a team of highly experienced senior personnel from FMC BioPolymers led by Mr Stewart Campbell, Regional Sales Manager, Asia Pacific together with Mr Khamfa Ponchreon (Asia Pacific Technical Manager), Mr Kelvin Druit (Dairy Segment Technical Manager), and Mr Ian Robinson (Asia Pacific Commercial Development / Marketing Manager).
The participants spent the interval between the two sessions at the hotel poolside enjoying a tasty lunch. When the seminar ended at 5:00 pm, participants made plans to meet each other again at the BMK booth the following day, at the FIA.
