10 March 2010 - Vietnam’s building and construction industry is set to benefit from the knowledge gained by Behn Meyer Vietnam executives during a recent training program on new applications for Solutia’s Saflex PVB technology.
Held at the Solutia manufacturing plant in Shanghai, China from March 8 – 10, 2010, the course was attended by BMV Executive Director, Polymers Division Ms Nguyen Le Thu Trang and Product Manager Ms Dao Nhi Ha.
PVB, or Poly Vinyl Butyral interlayer ‘film’ technology for laminated glazing delivers outstanding durability and is backed by reliable service expertise. Its reputation and performance have earned Saflex film products close to 50% of the entire laminated architectural and automotive glass market, worldwide.
Used in commercial, industrial and residential architectural applications, this segment of Saflex interlayers are valued for the safety, security, acoustic and solar benefits provided. Saflex offers a variety of benefits ranging from sound reduction in interior spaces, to high impact hurricane protection for weather-prone surfaces. Saflex provides this safety and security from shattered glass by holding the glass to the interlayer on impact.
In addition to acoustic benefits, Saflex interlay film is also used to give protection from ultraviolet solar rays, both of which are valued in public spaces like airports, restaurants, commercial and industrial complexes.
In the solar energy or “photovoltaic” market segment, the large amorphous silicon thin-film solar panels from Saflex provide durability, safety, easier processing and moisture protection. The purpose of energy saving is considered the main advantage of solar film. Saflex has proven more affordable than expected, making it the preferred brand for this application.
