26 March 2010 - Behn Meyer Aquaculture will present latest developments in the field of phytase applications for fish feeds. The benefits of applying phytase in fish feeds are well established. Phytase might be the only product where direct feed cost savings coincide with better feed quality and a reduction of nutrient pollution to the environment. Still, uncertainty about phytase features and lack of application knowledge constrain phytase usage in extruded feeds. Decision makers in fish feed mills need to consider several issues in order to succeed with a phytase project. Among them are the understanding of phytase economics, its formulation potential, and factors concerning post-extrusion application technology.
